F-P-J @ M-O-V
Here at .MOV, we do not only celebrate the new, we also pay tribute to the classics. FPJ fans, here’s your chance to see your idol, The King of Philippine Cinema, back in action as we present his 1961 film, “Sandata at Pangako”, at the Film Concert of .MOV.
“Sandata at Pangako” starred Fernando Poe, Jr. alongside Charito Solis for LVN pictures. The screenplay was penned and directed by F.H. Constantino. Also starring in this masterpiece were Bernard Bonnin, Lourdes Medel, Mila Ocampo, Gil de Leon, Johnny Reyes, Marrieta Sanz, Tony Dantes and Baby Janet.
Now’s the opportunity to mend the generation gap as fans of classic Pinoy flicks meet with the new. Not only are we tipping our hats off to The King, we are also screening other films that lit up the Philippine Cinema screens before the era of digital filmmaking for four nights of extravaganza:
FILMCONCERT.MOV screens Pinoy classics by Manuel Conde (“Genghis Khan”, the first Philippine film to compete in Venice), Joe Climaco (“Biglang Yaman”, the comedy classic starring Pugo & Togo), and Carlos Vander Tolosa (“Giliw Ko”, the earliest remaining Philippine film, made in 1939) accompanied with new live soundtracks by Pedicab, Cynthia Alexander, The Brockas, Khavn De La Cruz, Lolita Carbon & Radioactive Sago Project.
To give a modern twist to the event, we will also have various musicians playing along with the movie to give you that unique viewing experience. This is a film concert after all. Mark your calendars.
